The hummingbird crows to signal it is time to start today’s slide deck: My Presentation.
The hummingbird will return later, maybe tomorrow, when it wants to
to check on your progress, make edits.
You will know it is coming by the sound of its unnecessarily tall heels
and the fluttering of wings:
on average 4,200 times per minute.


I wouldn’t recommend arguing with the hummingbird’s opinions
nor would I go about making changes without its permission.


The hummingbird is the only worker who does not have to clock in nor clock out.
It does not have to sit
it does not have to bend over
it does have to lower its standards
nor is it confined to a cubicle.

The building has 3,862 windows.

But I wouldn’t recommend pondering space nor sunlight,
the hummingbird has given you all happy lamps anyway.
Oh, and electric pencil sharpeners, 1 for every outlet
(which by law must be no more than 12 feet apart from each other).

Do ponder indifference and how best to assure others that you are cosmopolitan enough.

The hummingbird is unaware that the water fountain is broken
and only dispensing hot water
that the lowest hanging fruit is still fruit
and that all the plants in this particular glass tower are fake
(but the hummingbird continues to water them everyday with champagne,
just to be nice).
